We’re Jan and Jeremy Rawson, on a journey through the United States in a 36′ motorhome, unencumbered by any schedule, with only a desire to experience and share what this country has to offer in terms of history, culture, nature and food. We will try to tie in a menu with every post, related to where we currently are (or not), share via photography where we are, and try to show what a vast and beautiful country this is.
An update – a little late in coming. In the Fall of 2021, after six plus years in our motorhome we decided to once again sell most of our possessions and move to Europe on a full-time basis. We’re thinking of retiring to Portugal or Italy sometime, but right now w are in the town of Hettenhausen in the Rhineland Palitnate state of Germany. Jan’s son ansd daughter-in-law live there along with their two daughters. It’s a great little town of 230 people and quite central to hums for travel. The TGV is in Kaiserslautern, a drive of about 20 minutes with access to many points in Europe, such as Paris, a mere two hours away. Frankfurt Airport is one and a half hours away and serves as an international gatewaz to destinations al over the world. So, we are attacking Europe much as we did the United States with camera in hand and a healthy appetite for all sorts of new cuisine. Check out the blogs.
